Ax, the way I understand it is that first of all there are all kinds of loopholes due to required interoperability with 2G network, and secondly, you could still do a "man-in-the-middle" attack and just use the authentication replies from the base station. You can easily find "a DIY IMSI catcher for $300" tutorials on the internet. Or, for that matter, you could just listen passively to the cellular traffic. Yes, it's encrypted, but so is https.

Cats, how awful and frustrating for you. Yes, I think George and Mik have a good hunch about this. You've been dealing with this for so long, and you deserve better. You deserve relief, and you deserve your lifestyle back. I'm still thinking you should come to Minnesooooooota and be seen at Mayo. Diagnostics is their best feature. You could use that yet to really make your life better. Sending you .

@George-K I posted that in another thread somewhere. Such a small sample, though, and no control. It’s worth a larger look, though.

On June 3, Rosenstein testified: “I did not suggest or hint at secretly recording President Trump,” denied suggesting 25th Amendment be invoked. https://twitter.com/CBS_Herridge/status/1269425730624139264 James Baker testified that Page and McCabe told him that Rosenstein wanted to wiretap the President. He goes on to say that they took that seriously. [image: EZ3n-HbXgAIhVHj?format=jpg&name=large] And Rosenstein was part of the 25th Amendment discussion: [image: EZ3n-HcXYAI95rk?format=jpg&name=large] Maybe Sidney Powell will be available for him in a little while.

@Jolly I agree. Those are big benefits. And, as the article mentions (and seems somewhat opposite to the US), if you DONT wear a mask outside, there is a lot of pressure to do so. It is "cooler and hip" to wear a mask rather than the other way around. Re: Singapore - they have developed their own "homemade" contact trace app they are trying to get people to use. It seems that they did a lot of the right things. Possible part of it is that the population density is much higher. The whole country is basically a city.

Their conclusion that all of these deaths were because of racism, speaks volumes.

@Aqua-Letifer said in Resigned: And they had plenty of other officers behind them to take up the slack while one or two took care of him. It's my understanding that when there's an accident and the police are present, their first duty is to act as a first responder until someone more medically qualified arrives. Is this not the case? No. The mission is paramount. EMS personnel were in the immediate vicinity and they were called. Riot and crowd control work is not normal police work.

Sounds like it was the Covid angle not the dwindling numbers of survivors. Hopefully we have a few more years of veterans there. Remember Harry Patch was still going to commemorative events at ~110

@taiwan_girl said in Cops are evil vs. gun control.: @Jolly UK Iceland Norway Ireland New Zealand Japan (though most do, so technically not correct) I know that some cops carry in the UK and in Ireland. Especially the response teams. New Zealand cops carry their guns in their cars. As does Norway. I don't have a clue about Iceland and Japan.

@Aqua-Letifer said in NOT a Babylon Bee Article: @Mik said in NOT a Babylon Bee Article: I would submit that our response to protests has been far more permissive than that of either China or Russia. And it's far more permissive than America in decades past. True on both fronts.

@Aqua-Letifer you're right. I started doing audiobooks in the late 1990s. It's amazing how horrible some of them were. We are (heh) decades beyond that.

Yep. I put it in another thread as the Overton window being pushed past more and more reasonable things that most of us think but are afraid to say. The relentless encroachment onto our ability to say reasonable things out loud is a large part of why Trump won in 2016. People to whom it never occurs to say anything against the progressive party line are quite lucky in this regard. Their brains are fit for our current society. But one can't choose one's brain, and some of us have a slightly more difficult choice to make.
